The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) is launching an ambitious collaboration with Nigeria to strengthen disease surveillance and emergency response capabilities across West Africa, according to newly released information.
Regional Command Center Planned for Abuja
At the heart of this initiative is the establishment of a Regional Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Hub in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja. This facility will serve as a critical coordination point connecting national EOCs across the region, enabling rapid information sharing and coordinated responses to health emergencies.
